adjective polycosmic adj. (Computers) Representing multiple possible worlds; used of a computational ontology that includes logically inconsistent assertions (theories), structured as different possible worlds; as, the only way to accommodate different theories of physics in one ontology is for that ontology to be polycosmic. Note: A computational ontology that includes both the existence of one God and nonexistence of God as alternative and inconsistent theories would be polycosmic.
